Abstract
Self-talk is a technique that can be used to influence someone's thinking patterns. This research aims to analyze whether there is an influence of self-talk on self-regulated learning in students at SMK Sakti Gemolong Sragen. This research uses a quantitative approach with an ex post facto design. The population of this research was students of SMK Sakti Gemolong Sragen, totaling 1598 students and the sample used was 286 students using proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data collection techniques used a self-talk scale (valid=31 items; reliability=0.889) and a self-regulated learning scale (valid=39 items; reliability=0.918). The data analysis technique uses quantitative descriptive analysis and simple linear regression analysis with the help of the SPSS version 25 program. The results of this study show that there is an influence of self-talk on students' self-regulated learning with a coefficient of determination ( = 0.252, meaning that self-talk can affects self-regulated learning by 25.2%. If self-talk increases, self-regulated learning will also increase. The research results found that self-talk can influence the self-regulated learning of Sakti Gemolong Sragen Vocational School students so that the hypothesis is accepted. It is recommended for future researchers to carry out further research using experimental methods to obtain more in-depth results. The implication of guidance and counseling teachers is to be able to help improve students' self-talk in the field of learning so that they can improve students' self-regulated learning through providing group counseling services.
