Abstract
Isu kesehatan mental siswa di sekolah telah banyak didokumentasikan, salah satunya adalah kecemasan akademik. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk memberikan tinjauan singkat terhadap konsep dasar kecemasan akademik. Kecemasan akademik pada dasarnya dibutuhkan bagi siswa karena mengacu pada adanya tekanan psikologis yang dapat dikelola; dan memotivasi siswa untuk tampil lebih baik secara akademik. Sayangnya kecemasan akademik telah banyak mempengaruhi konsentrasi, prestasi, dan kenyamanan siswa dalam situasi sekolah, dan dapat mengurangi kualitas hidup siswa karena tidak dapat dikendalikan dengan baik. Kecemasan akademik juga sering diperburuk oleh tekanan untuk berprestasi, ketakutan akan kegagalan, atau komparasi dengan teman-temannya di sekolah.
